Itinerary

Day 1 – 2nd January: Arrival – Amboseli

Pick up from your hotel and leave for Amboseli. The journey is about 4 hours.

15:30 – 18:30: After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Amboseli lies at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft.) and very close to the Tanzania border. The snowcapped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro dominates every aspect of Amboseli. The snows of Kilimanjaro form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most spectacular displays of wildlife – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and plains game, making it a photographer's paradise.

Drive back to the camp arriving in time for a swim, then dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – 3rd January: Amboseli

07:00 – 16:00: Enjoy a full day game drive at Amboseli, offering majestic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro (weather permitting). Amboseli is home to big mammals including elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffes, zebra, and wildebeests among other African animals.

Day 3 – 4th January: Amboseli – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, leave for Lake Nakuru. Lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

16:00 – 18:30: Afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru, famous for its abundant birdlife. Expect to see small groups of greater & lesser flamingoes, pelicans, and abundant mammals including endangered Rothschild giraffe, black & white rhino, buffalo, waterbuck, elands, and zebras.

Day 4 – 5th January: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara

07:00 – 09:00: Morning game drive at Lake Nakuru. Afterwards, leave for Maasai Mara with lunch enroute.

15:30 – 18:30: Afternoon game drive at Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular reserve known for its big skies, open savannahs, and the annual wildebeest migration. The reserve hosts the 'big five' plus plenty of plains game and abundant birdlife. It is also the shooting site for BBC Big Cat Diary.

Day 5 – 6th January: Maasai Mara

06:30 – 11:00: Early morning game drive with picnic breakfast.

15:30 – 18:30: Afternoon game drive to capture the sunset. Maasai Mara offers an abundance of herbivores, making it an ideal hunting ground for Kenya's famous 'big cats'. The Mara is famous for large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as the annual migration of wildebeest.
