Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our airport representative for a short safari briefing. Later you will be assisted to board your safari and drive north through the Kenya highlands to arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Leisurely afternoon before enjoying scheduled evening game drive in Samburu where Joy Adamson, author of Born Free, spent her final years, returning a leopard to the wild. This was the subject of her final book, Queen of Shaba.

Distance: Nairobi – Samburu: 350 km / 5 hours
Today depart for full day game watching in Samburu National Reserve. In Samburu vegetation is limited to a narrow stretch of doum palms, tamarind and some woodland bordering the Ewaso Ng'iro River. Away from this is hot dusty scrubland and acacia woodland. Termite mounds and weaver bird nests are common sights. Rare wildlife includes Grevy's zebra, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe and the long-necked gerenuk. Crocodiles and hippos dwell in the river, and birdlife flourishes with large flocks of guinea fowl. Leopards are occasionally seen.

After breakfast leave for Lake Bogoria with a brief stopover at the Equator. Lunch at your lodge. Later visit the geysers and marvel at thousands of flamingoes. Lake Bogoria is alkaline, with water twice as saline as seawater. Its level is regulated by rainfall and evaporation, with dramatic fluctuations. Hot springs and geysers add to its uniqueness.

Distance: Samburu – Lake Bogoria: 250 km / 5 hours
After breakfast leave for Lake Nakuru to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon enjoy game drive at Lake Nakuru, famous for abundant birdlife including greater and lesser flamingoes, pelicans, and endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. Black & white rhinos, buffaloes, zebras and other species are also found here. Return to your lodge in the evening.

Distance: Lake Bogoria – Lake Nakuru: 100 km / 2 hours
Early morning game drive at Lake Nakuru. Return to your lodge for breakfast. Afterwards depart for Lake Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a one-hour boat ride coming close to hippos and a variety of birdlife.

Distance: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha: 80 km / 1 hour
After breakfast leave for Masai Mara Reserve, known for vast savannahs and the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest cross from Serengeti to Mara. Besides the migration, the reserve is home to the Big Five and abundant wildlife including zebra, giraffe, gazelle, hyenas, cheetah, and foxes. Masai Mara is also the filming location for BBC’s Big Cat Diary.

Distance: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara: 300 km / 5 hours
Spend two full days trailing the migration with a visit to the Mara River where dramatic river crossings occur. Expect to witness big cats following the herds and thrilling wildlife encounters.
