Itinerary

Day 1 – 02nd October: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport
Meet on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport by our representative and transfer to Moshi hotel booked on bed & breakfast basis.
Overnight: Kibo Palace Hotel – www.kibopalacehotel.com

Day 2 – 03rd October: Moshi – NaleMoru Gate – Simba Camp
Drive to NaleMoru village, start trekking Rongai route through farmland and pine forests. Possible sightings of Colobus monkeys, elephants or buffalos en route. Overnight at Simba Camp (2625m).

Day 3 – 04th October: Simba Camp – Second Cave Camp – Kikelelwa Cave Camp
Steady ascent to Second Cave Camp with superb views of Kibo and the Eastern ice fields. Continue to Kikelelwa Camp.

Day 4 – 05th October: Kikelelwa Cave Camp – Mawenzi Turn Hut Camp
Short, steep hike to Mawenzi Turn Hut Camp, exiting the Heath zone into Alpine Desert. Overnight at Mawenzi Turn Camp.

Day 5 – 06th October: Mawenzi Turn Hut Camp
Acclimatization day with a short hike to Mawenzi Ridge, offering spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi before returning to camp.

Day 6 – 07th October: Mawenzi Turn Hut Camp – Outward Bound School Hut
Cross the lunar desert of the “saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo. Rest at camp in preparation for the summit attempt.

Day 7 – 08th October: Kibo Camp – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Camp
Summit day! Midnight start, pass Hans Meyer Cave (5220m), ascend to Gillman’s Point (5681m) for sunrise, then reach Uhuru Peak (5895m). Descend via Kibo Hut to Horombo Camp.
Overnight: Horombo Camp

Day 8 – 09th October: Horombo Camp – Marangu Gate – Arusha
Descend through heath and rainforest to Marangu Gate (1860m). Transfer to Arusha for relaxation.

Day 9 – 10th October: Arusha – Ngorongoro
Drive via Karatu and the Rift Valley to Ngorongoro Crater. Afternoon crater descent with picnic lunch. Wildlife viewing inside the UNESCO World Heritage site.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Distance: Arusha – Ngorongoro: 120 km / 2 hrs

Day 10 – 11th October: Ngorongoro – Serengeti
Drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in central Serengeti.

Distance: Ngorongoro – Serengeti: 150 km / 3 hrs

Day 11 – 12th October: Serengeti
